T1 Reflection

What were your goals when you began this class?  Did you have any?  How have they changed based on our first topic? I didn't have any goals in the beginning of the class other than to pass it with at least an 80. After Topic 1 I'm lowering it to 75... What areas did you do well on?  How did your behavior in class (speaking in the language, listening to the teacher, doing the homework, working in groups, etc.) help or hinder you performance?  What would you do differently? The area I did best on was the vocabulary. I memorized most of the vocab but I sound like a european redneck when I talk. Listening to Mrs. Waid and doing the homework helped, but I think working in groups didn’t really help me at all because I get distracted easily. I think the only thing I would do differently would be to practice my pronunciation more. Think about the strategies we learned in class this week to be better language learners.  What strategies do you feel will be most helpful, and why?  What questions do you still have about how to use them? The only strategy that works for me is studying and just paying attention, because that’s just how I learn the best.

The next topic is Family - identify three preliminary goals for things you would like to learn about or learn to do in French.
I really can’t think of any goals, but one thing I really need to do is relearn all the basic classroom words... because whenever Mrs. Waid gives instructions in French, this is how I (and probably everyone else) feels:
